Overview
This document will cover the hierarchy of the different elements of the El Toro Portal, including Organizations (orgs), Child orgs, campaigns, order lines, and assets.
El Toro Portal Hierarchy
El Toro’s Portal follows a hierarchical system. The hierarchy is as follows: Organizations (or parent organizations) are at the top, and Child Organizations are optional but below a parent organization. Campaigns come next (can live under either a parent or child organization), then order lines. Last are the assets, which include audiences, creatives, and landing pages. All assets make up an order line.
What are the pieces of the hierarchy?
Below is a breakdown of the terminology used in the portal:
Organization (Org): an El Toro portal account, which can also be referred to as a “parent organization” when child organizations are used. These can also be referred to in shorthand as an “org”.
Child organization: a sub-organization in the El Toro Portal. These can be used as an organizational system. For agencies with different customers, for instance, a child org can be set up for each. Or a retail customer who has teams in different regions, child orgs could be used for each region. It is important to note all billing is done at the parent organization level, so anything a child org runs will be billed to the parent org. For more information on this, please review the following documentation: Child Orgs – El Toro Support Center
Campaigns: The folder, or the container, in which you house order lines. They are used to organize individual initiatives to reach the overarching goal of a specific advertising push.
Order Lines: The individual initiatives that contain the assets including audiences, creatives, and landing pages that are used to reach that overarching goal. In other words, these are the orders that spend money and impressions.
Audience: The list of targets to whom the ads on the order line will be delivered to. This could be an address list or created with one of our other products, such as Venue Replay.
Creative: The ad that users will see whether they be banners or videos, for instance.
Landing page: The page within a website a user will be directed to when they click on your ad.
It is important to note that the hierarchy mentioned above can live underneath either an organization or a child organization. Not all accounts will use child organizations.
Understanding the difference between campaigns and order lines is imperative because we can provide you with reporting at both levels.
