Overview
This document will cover how to edit a campaign while it is live, including what changes you can make to a live order line, such as adjusting the budget or ad impressions, swapping out an audience or creative, or changing the end date of an order line. If your order line is locked and requires updates, please submit a support request with the necessary updates and attachments, and we will make the changes for you. Additionally, if you need to change the start date of an order line that has been submitted for approval but not yet deployed, a support request will also be required.
How to Edit a Live Campaign
The steps below will walk you through how to start editing a live campaign. After following these steps, you will have a variety of changes you can make to your order lines.
Step 1: Navigate to your campaign dashboard and select the order line you want to edit.
Step 2: From here, click the campaign name, highlighted by the red box below. This will open up a separate window, displaying all order lines in the campaign.
Step 3: Click the box next to the order line(s) you want to edit.
Step 4: Once you click the left-hand box, a larger blue box with a variety of options will appear.
Step 5: Select the category you want to edit from the following: creatives, audiences, budget, impressions, and flight dates. You can also duplicate the order line from this menu, for use in another campaign.
The descriptions below walk you through each of these options and how these changes affect your order line’s performance and budget.
Creatives
Swapping a Creative: Note, to change a creative on an order line, you will first want to attach the new creative to the order line, and then remove the outdated creative from the order line. This will ensure that there is no interruption in ad serve.
Search Bar: From the search bar, you can search your creative library for the creative(s) you want to add, by name or ID. The creatives that match your search will appear below the search box, and you can add the desired creative to the order line by simply clicking on it from here.
Open Library: Clicking the “Open Library” button will show you a list of every creative you have that can be attached to this particular order line. To attach them to the order line, click on the “Select” button at the right side of the creative line. Note that, for instance, video creatives will not appear for banner order lines.
Create: Clicking create will open a new window, allowing you to upload new creatives directly to the order line. Creatives uploaded in this way will also appear in the Creatives Library.
Remove: Clicking the remove button will remove the creative from the order line. Note: you can only remove a creative if there are two or more creatives already attached to the order line.
Click-Through URL: The landing page for the ad can be edited by clicking the pencil icon to the right of the Click-Through URL.
UTM Tracking: When toggled on, you will see various fields to fill out for UTM tracking and can make edits as needed.
Brand URL: The brand URL can be added or edited by clicking the pencil icon to the right of Brand Tracking.
Audiences
Swapping an Audience: Note, to change an audience on an order line, you will first want to attach the new audience to the order line, and then delete the outdated audience from the order line. This will ensure that there is no interruption in ad serve.
Search Bar: From the search bar, you can search your audience library for the audience(s) you want to add, by name or ID. The audiences that match your search will appear below the search box, and you can add the desired audience to the order line by simply clicking on it from here.
Open Library: Clicking the “Open Library” button will show you a list of every audience you have that can be attached to this particular order line. To attach them to the order line, click on the “Select” button at the right of the audience line. Note that, for instance, Venue Replay audiences will not appear for B2C IP Targeting order lines.
Create: Clicking create will open a new window, allowing you to upload new audiences directly to the order line. Audiences uploaded in this way will also appear in the Audiences Library.
Remove: Clicking the remove button will remove the audience from the order line. Note: you can only remove an audience if there are two or more audiences already attached to the order line.
Move Audience: This allows you to add the selected audience to a different order line in the same campaign. The new order line will appear in the “Edit Audiences” box but below the originally selected order line.
Budget
From the “Edit Budget” screen you can adjust the total cost of the order line, based on your CPM. Please keep in mind that any changes made to the budget will affect the number of impressions the order line will serve. Please also note that the budget will not allow you to go below budget and impression minimums. If you need to go below these minimums, please contact your sales executive.
Impressions
From the “Edit Impressions” screen you can adjust the total number of impressions in a variety of ways. Keep in mind that any changes made to the number of impressions will affect the overall cost of the order line. Also, changing the values of one box on this screen will affect the values in the other two boxes. Please also note that the budget will not allow you to go below budget and impression minimums. If you need to go below these minimums, please contact your sales executive.
Total Impressions: Use this field to change the total number of impressions that will be served throughout the life of the order line.
Frequency: Use this field to adjust the total number of impressions. Frequency refers to how many impressions are served per target per day.
Impressions per target per flight: Use this field to adjust the total number of impressions, by changing how many impressions are served per target, over the life of the campaign.
Flight Date
From this screen, you can change the end date of your order line. Extending an order line’s flight date will impact the frequency of impressions served and may require you to make changes to the budget as well, to account for the change.
Please note that you are not able to edit the start date, since the order line may already be serving impressions. If you need to change the start date on an approved (but not yet deployed) order line, please reach out to support@eltoro.com.
FAQs
-
Q: Why can’t I change the start date of my order line?
-
A: Once an order line has been deployed to our DSP, we are no longer able to change the start date. However, if you would like to delay the start of an order line, you can simply pause the order line and unpause it on the day you want it to start. In this case, make sure you have a reminder set to turn it back on!

-
Q: Why can’t I attach an audience to my order line?
-
A: While many of our audiences can be used in conjunction with one another, not all of them are eligible for this. Many times this is because the original audience is priced differently than the one you are trying to add. In this case, making two separate order lines in the same campaign is the best option.

-
Q: Why can’t I attach a creative to my order line?
-
A: If a creative will not attach to an order line, it could be because the order line is a different type than the creative (e.g. banner order line but video creative). Make sure that the creative and order line types are the same. In this case, making two separate order lines in the same campaign could be a good option.

-
Q: Can I exclude certain audiences from targeting to ensure they are not served impressions?
-
A: Yes! If this is something you would like to do, please reach out to your sales executive or support@eltoro.com.
-
-
Q: I am trying to lower the number of impressions on an active order line and it won’t let me. Why not?
-
A: There are two possible causes of this. First, it could be that you are trying to set the impressions below the minimum for your org. The second possibility is that the order line has already served more impressions than the number you are trying to set it to. For example, the order line has already served 500,000 impressions, but you are trying to lower the maximum to 400,000 impressions.
