Overview
This document covers what exclusion audiences are and how to request them.
Exclusion Audiences
Exclusion audiences are audience segments that have been designed to block matches from the eligible target pool for a given order line. This feature allows clients to exclude prospects from receiving targeted ads for their campaigns e.g. this can be used to exclude customers who have recently purchased from them, for political advertisers to exclude voters who have already voted, etc.
For instance, let’s say a College wants to target 5,000 households to encourage prospective students to register their enrollment. Halfway through the order line flight, there are 500 registered from their original list. Since those people have already enrolled, the client no longer wants to target them with ads. The list of the 500 addresses from enrollees can then be added to the order line as an exclusion audience and the people on that exclusion audience will no longer be targeted.
