Overview
Whether you create an audience directly in the Audience Library or in a campaign, all audiences will be stored in the Audience Library for monitoring, reference, or future use. The Audience Library is visible from the main org tab, under the links to the Campaign Dashboard and the Creatives Library.
This article will cover how to find the Audience Library, understand the Audience Library, locate an audience, preview an audience, leave notes on an audience, use an audience from the library for a campaign, remove an audience from the library, and organize audiences in folders within the Audience Library.
How to Find the Audience Library
-
First, navigate to the sidebar menu located on the left side of the portal page.
-
Select “Audience Library.”
Understanding the Audience Library
After navigating to the Audience Library, you will see the Audience Library dashboard. We will explore each component of this dashboard below.
-
The “Upload/Create” button located at the top of the dashboard allows you to generate new audiences or upload a list.
-
The total count of target audiences for your organization is displayed at the top of the dashboard. The toggles to display child organizations and archived audiences are also located here.
-

Locating and Previewing an Audience
To locate an audience, you can use the filter functionality or sorting options available in the Audience Library, or the global search bar at the top of the portal page. Audiences can be filtered or sorted by name, type, status, date created, ID, and folder. Audiences can be searched for in the global search bar by partial or whole name or ID.
If you select an audience, you can find additional information, including the information present in the Audience Library columns, such as type, status, ID, matched records, and any “Related Audiences,” or other audiences that use the same address list as the selected audience.
How to Use an Audience from the Audience Library for a Campaign
From the audience preview display, you can select “Use in New Campaign,” which will begin the campaign creation process, and will automatically attach this audience to the campaign created.
How to Leave a Note on an Audience
From the audience preview display, you can select the pencil icon next to the “Notes” section, and write a note for future reference or for other users of your organization. The note limit is 290 characters for each audience.
When you are finished with the note, make sure to click the floppy disc icon to save the note.
How to Remove an Audience
The “Remove” button is located within the audience preview display. If an audience is not currently attached to an order line and has not been deployed on an initiative in the past, you can remove it from your Audience Library. If an audience is attached to an order line, you will be unable to remove the audience until you have first removed the audience from each order line to which it is attached.
Organizing the Audience Library
You can use folders within the library to organize your audiences. From the audience preview display, you can select “Move to New Folder,” which will allow you to create or select a folder for this audience to go in. Audiences in folders will continue to appear in the Audience Library, but folders will appear above the Audience Library. Clicking on a folder will display only the audiences in that folder.
Best Practices
-
Have specific naming conventions for your audiences. This way you can easily find them in the future and avoid confusion with other audiences. (EX: April-Louisville recruitment-Banner.)
-
Upload audiences to the library first so they can be “attached from the library” in the order line creation process.
-
Set audiences up in advance to allow processing to happen in time to start the campaign.
